Hi GranE!

GranE was reallly missing her B-Boy, and so she came back out to visit us.

I picked her up at the airport, and then we headed to B-Boy's daycare to pick him up. He was very happy to see her, and to show her his classroom, which was decorated for Christmas - complete with tree!

He showed her all the fun toys he likes to play with, and the decorations that he made for the tree.

It's a dress up guy GranE.
You put costumes on him and they stick!
Teacher says it uses magnets, whatever that is.

Oh, hi Mommy! I didn't know you were here!
Did you know GranE came to see me?
YAY!

GranE was in great spirits, and listened to him talk on and on- even though she didn't fully understand most of what he said.

Then we headed home- and GranE's day was complete! She got to see her boy... B-Boy's Daddy!

All in all, GranE seems happy to get her Neb and B-Boy fix!

GranE and Pop-Pop come visit!

GranE and Pop-Pop came for a visit, and we were so happy to see them! B-Boy still cannot say GranE, but he sure did master saying Pop-Pop!

B-Boy had a blast playing with his Pop-Pop and started by showing him how good he can stack up paper towels. This is one of his favorite games, and I can't tell what he likes most about it- stacking them or knocking them down so he can say "Oh No!".

B-Boy also had fun playing trains with Pop-Pop, which was all due to AuntJ- she sent a train set to B-Boy just as GranE and Pop-Pop arrived. B-Boy really liked the set, but I think he liked sharing them with Pop-Pop more!

GranE, Neb and I took B-Boy to the park one day- the swings were a hit, but could not compare to riding the motercycle!

Vroom!!! I'm going FAST!

Outta my way!

A plane flew over while we were there, and B-Boy was the first to point it out while saying "Plane!"... I thought he looked more like he was waving to another passing motorcycle, which I thought would make Pop-Pop smile...

I had to go out of town at the end of the visit, but everyone was super nice to snap some photos for the rest of us. Forgive me for including so many pictures, but there were just too many cute ones NOT to include!

I love my GranE and Pop-Pop!
They came from California just to see ME!

We match Pop-Pop!

GranE keeps tickling me!

Two more photos... and I'll be done, I promise!

First, I have to share a photo from the last time B-Boy saw his Pop-Pop, which was in April 2010, when B-Boy was so much smaller!!!! I try to get them to use the same pose and location, but since we are in a new house, and B-Boy weighs considerably more than back then, we shook it up a bit. But the photo tells the tale, don't you think they all look different?

Lastly, I know GranE is going to want this photo- all her boys in one spot!

Hi GranE! We all love you!

GranE visits her B-Boy

Last week, GranE came to visit B-Boy. It was a great visit, and Neb and I got to go on several dates with such a great babysitter to watch him! YAY! Not only that, but I took a half day off of work one beautiful afternoon....GranE and I got to play a round of golf and I enjoyed it immensely.

Unfortunately, B-Boy did not feel like himself for part of the time that she was here. When he feels icky, he gets irritable and fussy. Poor GranE got to see this not-so-fun side of B-Boy, but she still adores his cute self, and said she could watch him eat all day. (And I must admit, watching him put food in those cute cheeks does make me smile!)

GranE had fun giving B-Boy a bath. B-Boy had fun too!

Then Neb and GranE read him a book before bed. B-Boy likes to "Hop on Pop!". He thought it was great silliness that GranE and his Daddy were saying the same thing at the same time. Ooohhh, surround sound!

And then we finished the night with a quick photo.

No, GranE... Mommy will see my tummy...
and you know what that means...
TICKLES!

Thanks for the visit GranE, we sure can't wait for you to come back!

Thoughts from GranE

YAY! GranE came to visit for Thanksgiving, and B-Boy is so excited she is here. She has been here for the week, and goes home Friday morning.

The visit has been a good one, especially because GranE and Neb have been able to play golf several times while she is here.

I asked her to jot down her impressions of B-Boy since she doesn't see him everyday. She was nice enough to put her thoughts to the blog! Thanks GranE... I really appreciate it.

My impressions of B-Boy

He’s certainly well-adjusted.  He is happy most of the time, engaged in things around him, and receptive to all manner of attention.  He laughs readily.  He seems to have a  lot of self confidence and easily responds to changes in his environment.  He can go from crying to calm in a very short time.  He’s not shy.  The new experience with the haircut shows quite a lot about him.  It was a completely new environment, but Mommy was there to talk with him and smile at him.  He tolerated getting his hair combed, being moved from side to side so that the hairdresser could get to the other side, and kept pretty still while using his pacifier.  He only fussed when the clippers were about to be used on his neck and when the blow dryer was put on.

All in all, a confident little boy who can tackle new adventures with a minimum of unhappiness.  He loves to play and seeks attention from Mom and Dad.  He seems very attentive and bright.  He’s not as shy as his Dad was when Neb was that age.  Neb let others take over and I don’t think B-Boy will do that.

He’s absolutely gorgeous.  Great smile.  Beautiful body.  He seems to have gotten a terrific start in life and there’s no reason to think that he won’t achieve great things and have fun while doing it.  Mom will make him sensitive to others, and Dad will make him laugh at everything.

GranE

Thanks GranE... We really appreciate it. It is nice to hear another perspective! And for those of you wondering about the hairdresser, the story is coming in a blog post. I promise!

As usual, I snapped a photo of them. And in case you are wondering, he does not have a UNI-Brow... he bonked himself with a cup that gave him a bruise on the bridge of his nose.

I like playing with GranE!

I'm bigger than I was last time, right GranE?

Bye-Bye GranE!

This was a fun visit GranE!

GranE has gone home. :(

B-Boy will miss her, but we are excited that she will be coming back to visit in November for Thanksgiving.

Before she left, we took a photo in the same place we always do. It's funny to start with the first one, to see the progression. As B-Boy gets bigger (and that is a shock to see), you will notice that Neb and GranE look like they have more energy. Go figure.

AuntJ and Limby come to visit!

Today, GranE's sister, AuntJ, came to visit with her daughter Limby from Georgia. They played with B-Boy, who is still trying to figure out why all these new folks are here.

We took him to the pool and had a great time. (It was VERY hot, but we made do!) B-Boy showed them how he can go under the water, kick his legs when his Daddy pulls him through the water, and splash!!!

Faster GranE Faster!

I know one of you is about to dunk me, I can just tell!

The water is nice and cool AuntJ! You should get in!

Before Limby and AuntJ left, we took some time to snap some photos. Limby was sweet to play along with me wanting to take so many...

Before they hit the road, I told AuntJ that she had to take another photo with B-Boy. I told her he needed to be in the same position he was in the photo from the last time she visited. It took her a moment to remember... she had held him out at her side. Yikes!

But she was sweet to do as I asked, especially since I promised she would not have to do it again.

We will have to find another pose for her. Did I mention B-Boy is HEAVY????  Could you imagine me having AuntJ and B-Boy do this pose when he is 12? HA!!!!

GranE comes to visit!

B-Boy is all excited... his GranE is here! She is amazed at how big he has gotten.

Um, GranE, I am not a ventriloquist dummy...
I can prove it. You drink some water and I'll talk.

GranE had a ball playing with B-Boy, and a bigger ball playing with Neb. He took off of work so they could play golf together while she is here. It is good to see them together, they both make each other laugh.

GranE and Neb even figured out how to set up the Pack-N-Play. YAY! B-Boy did well in it, but he did not like being CONTAINED! He is so tall that he can peek over the top rail.

Yep, Daddy's excited... he doesn't have to chase me in here.

B-Boy is happy to see GranE... It was clear that he remembers her on some level... he is looking forward to playing with someone new.

Mmmm... that is yummy GranE!

GranE and Pop-Pop

Guess who is here for a visit?

GranE and Pop-Pop! This is GranE's third visit and Pop-Pop's first. They drove their RV from California and arrived on Tuesday. GranE was shocked at how much B-Boy had grown, and couldn't wait to get her hands on him. Once she got her B-Boy fix (aka, he got too heavy to hold), she handed him to Pop-Pop.

I'm confused... You get to live with GranE?

No wonder she's so happy! I love you Pop-Pop!

The next day, I was able to capture more photos...

WOW! I get lots of attention. I like visitors!

GranE watched B-Boy so that Neb and I could have a dinner date. Ah, free time!!!! We went to dinner at one of our favorite seafood spots... now that I am done pumping, I can have OYSTERS!!!! They were yummy! I hadn't had oysters in over a year, and they were on my short list of things I can't wait to eat. (The list contains oysters and clams, margaritas, sushi, milk, and ICE CREAM!) After putting away an entire peck of steamed oysters and a glass of wine, I was quite happy. Thanks GranE for the break!

Having GranE and Pop-Pop here got me thinking about first visits.

My Dad, GrandpaGator, visited B-Boy from Florida while we were in the hospital. Day 2 to be exact. Here is a picture I took at that visit.

My mom, Mema, also visited that day in the hospital.

GranE was here when B-Boy was 2 weeks old. Here is the first photo I have of her with him.

Neb's aunt, AuntJ, visited us while his mom was here for her first visit. My goodness he was small!

Wow. It's amazing how much he has changed. I wonder what my Dad's reaction will be the next time he sees B-Boy!
