What's that I hear? Moans?

No, it's the Ramones! Yesterday, B-Boy wore a cute red Ramones t-shirt to continue the Rock week t-shirt theme. I paired it with black workout pants, which makes me giggle. I mean really, what baby needs to workout? I can only imagine the design meeting on that one.... cuz I can imagine Moms and Dads wanting their kids to match them when they go to the gym. Either way, they sure do look comfy...

Dad, do you notice that we are matching quite a bit this week?
Shhh son, I am hoping nobody notices.

My Mom asked me on Wednesday what sounds B-Boy was making, since I mentioned his singing. She said this is the time where he will be working on his vowels, and a consonant or two. I paid attention to his sounds yesterday, and she was right! He is going through his vowels, like AAAAA, Ooooo, and Eeeeeee. I heard three distinct consonants - B, M, and L. B is popular and it often accompanies several bubbles. So, Mom was right, and I am glad she asked because that was something I would have missed.

There are two other items to note about yesterday. First, as I was wring my blog entry, it started to snow. Big, fluffy flakes that looked like fresh globs of cotton candy falling from the sky. It didn't stick to the road, but it did accumulate on the grass and trees. It was very pretty, but melted as soon as the sun came out. :(

The second item to note is that B-Boy got the last of his four month old shots. We spaced them out since he was supposed to get 5!!! Yes, you heard that right, five. That's CRAZY. So we broke it up into 3 different appointments, each a week apart. One shot in each leg is about all I can do at a time. Thank goodness his pediatrician is at our healthcare center which is onsite at my work, with no copays!

He is done with shots until his six month appointment, where we will do this all over again. He handles them pretty well, and is usually happy a few hugs later. I am hoping this continues!!!

Who are you? Who, who... Who who?

Rock week continues in the B-Boy shirt department. In honor of the great halftime show at the Superbowl, B-Boy sported a cute The Who shirt yesterday. Neb couldn't resist playing with him, and B-Boy ended up in a fit of giggles. We videoed some of it, and I'll be sure to share it soon.

Look, I'm FLYING Daddy!

Yeah, you should hide your daughters...

Also, B-Boy went back to the chiropracter yesterday. She was amazed at how BIG he was (she hadn't seen him for two weeks). She showed me how he is losing some of the baby reflexes now that he is growing up. Babies have several reflexes that they are born with, like flailing arms, a fencing position refex, keeping thier hands in fists, and a few more. She showed me how he does not have the first two... he still does the fists, but it won't be long before that reflex is gone. This is a nice milestone to celebrate, especially the flailing arms... because that can keep him up at night. We currently swaddle him to prevent that, but he is a wiggle worm, and doesn't stay in it long. Since this reflex is waning, we might survive removing the swaddling soon, when we have no choice.

She did some pressure work on his sinuses on his face, and B-Boy would not stop smiling... almost as if saying "Ahhhh, FINALLY someone is giving me some relief!" He looked so content and funny that I HAD to take a photo. He looked like he was wearing a mask made of fingers... of course, he stopped smiling as soon as I whipped out the camera. :) Typical B-Boy, who started smiling as soon as the camera was put away.

And then he once again burst into giggles with the doctor! Me, I get nothing. She and Neb, giggle heaven.

Oh well, at least I get the BEST baby snuggles EVER. He loves his Mama holding him.

He's so Blaisen' they yell "Fire!"

Neb says this week is Rock week for B-Boy's outfits. If you recall, B-Boy wore a Moterhead onesie on Monday to match his Dad's lucky t-shirt. So yesterday, Neb dressed B-Boy in his Nirvana t-shirt. I have to admit, with the khaki courderoy pants, the outfit was grunge-adorable.

I knew you would be curious, so of course I had to snap a picture.

Don't I look Blaisen' cute?

I went over to feed him in the afternoon. In the middle of the feeding, B-Boy experienced his first FIRE DRILL! And, since I was there at the time, I did too! They have a special crib with wheels and plexiglass around the sides that 3 babies usually ride in. The teachers each hold a child (that is all 6 kids accounted for). Since I was there, I held B-Boy (who kept eating unaware that anything was really going on).

After the director came by to verify all were out, we were able to go back inside. Before we did, I snapped a photo.

And of course, we took a silly photo too...

Aaaah.... we're gonna burn!!!

Gotta love those teachers! They are as silly as I am!!!

Like a Rollin' Stone... Amazing.

Today was a big day of firsts!

Neb had his midterm exam today, and so B-Boy was once again wearing a matching onesie to Neb's lucky t-shirt. (Neb had to order B-Boy a new one, since he already outgrew the first one.) To complete his rocker look, B-Boy wore his first pair of blue jeans today! He looked so cute, even though his shirt looked a bit menacing.

Are you ready to ROCK?

After daycare, B-Boy and I stayed after for an infant massage class. Two of his teachers are providing it, and I really look forward to the class on Monday evenings. B-Boy seems to enjoy it for the most part, and it really helps us get him to relax to go to sleep.

When I arrived at his classroom, he was "singing"... he has taken to do this a lot lately. I think he is finding his voice very interesting, and he likes to practice using it, especially in the car. It was quite funny, since he was well into some B-Boy Opera when I arrived.

We all sat on the floor with our babies in thier diapers only, laying on their back. Class had just started and we were reviewing how to massage his legs, when all of the sudden, B-Boy was ON HIS TUMMY!!!!

I was shocked. As you may have read in my previous post this morning, I thought it would be a week or two before he did this. It took a few moments for it to sink in... my baby is on his tummy... because he ROLLED there!

I was holding his foot at the time because that was what we were massaging. How he managed to roll over with his foot in my hand is beyond me. The best thing is that I had several witnesses, but unfortunately, Neb was taking his test at the time and couldn't be there.

Fast forward to later tonight... I fed B-Boy and changed his diaper. We both got on the floor to lay on a blanket. I laid him on his back so that we could play. Before I knew it, he was on his tummy AGAIN!!! Unfortunately, Neb was making B-Boy's bottles for tomorrow's meals and missed it. And in classic B-Boy style, he refused to do it again.

Oh well. I am sure it won't be the last time. But I must say, this is one of the most exciting things since he was born. The smile was wonderful, giggles are great... but to see your little boy roll over for the first time is just amazing. Almost as amazing as watching your baby's daddy teach your son how to roll over.

Amazing.
