Two weeks ago, B-Boy pulled up in his bed at daycare. The cribs are really easy to pull up in, and he finally figured out that he could do it. After that, he didn't do it again. Then, last week, B-Boy started pulling up on bookshelves, bins of toys, and chairs. He started doing it at home, but only to get on his knees.
Then yesterday, B-Boy pulled up in his crib. Neb was helping him get dressed, and the next thing we knew, he was standing up with a big ol' smile behind his pacifier. It took us both a few minutes to realize what he had done... the shock hit, and we both realized it was time to lower his crib.
We had been talking about it for several months, around his 7 month mark. But to be honest, we just weren't ready to do it. Since he wasn't pulling up, we decided to wait. Waiting time has clearly ended. So this morning, Neb turned the crib on it's side and lowered it.
I must admit, the crib looked really odd. I am not used to seeing it like that. The mattress is so much lower, and it looks so different! B-Boy took a nap in it right afterward... I think the change affected him too, because he woke in a fit of hysterics.
I hope he gets used to it... he is taking another nap now after 45 minutes at the pool. So far, so good. But I noticed that he is quite long in his crib. He takes up so much space in the crib, I wonder how long it will be before we have to buy him his first bed. He's growing so big!

A New Milestone!
Yes, B-boy is now 6 weeks old, but that is not the milestone we are celebrating today!
Last night was the first night he slept in his crib!!!!
Up to now, he has slept mostly in his swing... sometimes in his bouncer seat... but he HATED his bassinet. We had originally thought he would sleep in his bassinet for 2 months in our room, but in reality, he slept in it MAYBE 4 times.
So last night we made the decision to try his room. Neb took the 9pm to midnight shift so that I could get some sleep, and B-boy slept in his swing in the living room. We traded out at midnight, and I pumped until 1am and then slept on the couch. Thank goodness it is comfy! At 2:30am, he woke up ready to eat... So at 3am, we put him in his crib, turned on his rainforest mobile, and quietly backed out of the room.
And he slept!!!! At 6am, we woke to his crying... right on schedule. We both got up- Neb changed him and I then fed him while Neb laid on the floor with Mango. Back to the crib he went... and we RAN to our bed hopeful he might sleep. After a bit of serious crying, Neb decided we should bring out our comfort Secret Weapon- the hair dryer. It did the trick, B-boy then slept until 9am!
It also gave us an excuse to use the cool video baby monitor that Neb purchased... He hung 2 of the cameras above B-boy's crib- we still don't know where the third one will go. The night vision on it was really cool! Here is a shot of B-boy this morning...

We have decided he was being nice to us in honor of GatorGirl's birthday... Happy Birthday GatorGirl!
Let's hope he is nice to us again tonight!
