B-Boy visits the Chiropractor

Since B-Boy was about 3 weeks old, I have been taking him to the chiropractor. With all the feeding issues we had, the reflux and gas, I thought it might help. Why? Because the chiropractor helped my digestive issues many years ago. If it worked for me, I thought it might work for him. And, it has. He is spitting up a lot less, and his gas issues are so much better.

B-Boy is doing really well, and I have to give credit to our chiropractor, Dr. Ahhh. She is so good with him, even when he wails... which he does not do with her anymore.

The past few visits, he has not cried at all. Part of that is that he feels better, and part is because Neb holds him upside down to play quite a bit. As you can see, Dr. Ahhh does that too. She holds him upside down to check his alignment...

Look at how well he holds his head back! Next, she checks his neck. STRETCH!!!!

Then, she turns him over and checks his spine...

Um, don't you want to buy me a bottle of milk first?

Look Mom, I am so good at holding up my head!

Hee hee, that tickles!

Finally, she sits him up and makes adjustments gently to his spine. The vertabrae associated with his digestion usually adjusts into place, showing that it needed to be adjusted.

Aftwerward, I took B-Boy back to the daycare, and he settled right in...

Until next time...

The MusicLady Return-eth

B-Boy got another session with the MusicLady at daycare this week. Did I mention how much I am lovin' his daycare? All the teachers are just so good with him, and have been so nice and helpful with us being new parents and all. We are still trying to figure all this parent stuff out. The fact that he gets visitors, with music, is a bonus.

B-Boy loves music, and I was happy to see her in his classroom on Thursday morning. She was very sweet, and even tolerated me taking some photos!

MusicLady, did you see the song I wrote you?
You must have, cuz I am getting to sit in YOUR lap!

See, I wasn't fibbing about that cool pink guitar. She got it in Nashville, and loves it- she told me it reminds her of her dad. We dig it too, MusicLady, and can't wait for you to come back.

Color me wrong- It snowed!

I mentioned in the previous post that it was supposed to snow, and that I did not believe it would.

I was wrong!!!!! And I am not too proud to admit it.

About two hours after my last post, it started. It was not very heavy, but it did not take long to get a nice dusting outside. When we woke this morning, this is what we found:

Pretty, isn't it? So B-Boy had his first official, stick to the ground, pack it in balls and throw it at someone... snow. His first snow. I know, he won't remember this at all, but hopefully the photos we took will convince him in later years that he did experience snow at almost 4 months old.

Neb keeps muttering to B-Boy that he is sorry... something about the outfit I dressed him in. I think it is ADORABLE. What do you think? As promised, we took lots of pictures for you all.

Um Mom, I don't think this is supposed to be a sled.
Dad, a little help?

GatorGirl will be jealous, she really wants GatorBoy to see snow, which he has not seen, living in Florida.

It's too bad Neb's mom left, she just LOVES the cold... wink wink.

What's that B-Boy? You won't stand for that?
HA! You are too silly!

Finding his voice and his knees

I wanted to update you on some discoveries that B-Boy made this week! His world is getting bigger every day.
B-Boy found his voice this week. Not the crying voice, but his real voice.

In the beginning, B-Boy howled all the time:
          I am not 100% full - howl.
I want to be held- howl.
          My tummy hurts- howl.
          I am bored - howl.
          I am content - howl.
Seriously, he only knew howling to communicate.

Then, he learned levels of crying. We called them Defcon 1-5. Defcon 3 was loud, but the world was not coming to an end. Defcon 5- holy cow, the paint will be comng off the walls from the high pitched screaming! Eventually, he learned that silence is golden, and he could get attention other ways. Ah, that was nice.

A few weeks ago, B-Boy learned to drag out the cry with less volume... almost like he was singing to himself. He would keep himself occupied for about 20 minutes with this new sound. Since then, the sounds he has made have become varied, and he has now moved into thinking that these sounds make complete sense to us. I think he thinks he is talking!

It is quite cute. I will video some of it for you to hear for yourself. Baby Boy is growing up!

My Mom asked me this week if B-Boy had found his feet yet. Nope, not yet. But, he HAS noticed there is something there, and that he has the power to lift them and bring them closer to his face. He has not yet grabbed or played with them, but this morning... B-Boy found his KNEES!!!!

I think he thinks that his knees are grabbing knobs. He keeps bending his knees and resting his hands on them. He then grasps them like a doorknob and rubs them a bit. If he had less hair, I think he could be mistaken for a little old man rubbing his sore knees! :)

Well, not too much else to report milestone wise... they are calling for a big snow here tonight, which should be starting in the next hour or so. I am not convinced it will snow, but you better believe if it does that I will have my camera at the ready!

Ode to the Woman with the Pink Guitar

On Thursday, B-Boy had a visitor to his classroom - The MusicLady! The MusicLady comes to the daycare and plays lots of different instruments, reads books in song, and also has puppets to join in on the fun.

MusicLady played her brand new bright pink guitar for B-Boy and his classmates, and sang too! It was his first experience with live music, and he loved it. B-Boy loves music anyway, but this was the first time that it was created in front of him. His teachers reported that he seemed to be having fun.

I think he enjoyed it not only because it was new, and she sang, but because one of his teachers held him the entire time. B-Boy knows how to get what he wants. ;)

Oh MusicLady, with the bright pink guitar,
I wonder what you love,
and where you are.
I miss you
and your fun bouncy songs,
I just wish I could sing along.
Thank you for coming,
I hope you'll come back,
so again I can sit
in my teacher's lap!

:)

Neb asked me to make a cake for his coworker's birthday. I thought it would be good practice for all those future B-Boy birthday cakes. Neb's only requirement was that it be an obnoxious yellow.

How did I do?

B-Boy vs a small poodle

It has been very wet here, so when we finally got some sunshine, Neb and I took advantage and took B-Boy for a walk.

Our neighborhood is one with long curving streets with a few big hills. It has several loops- a fun walk with little traffic. You may see one or two folks walking along the way, but it is usually pretty quiet. On this walk, as we went past one of our friend's house, we saw she was outside.

By the time we made it to her driveway, she had gone inside. Since she hadn't yet seen B-Boy, we decided to stop in for a quick visit. At the front door, we were loudly greeted by her small white poodle. She picked up the dog and walked out to see B-Boy.

Now, B-Boy had been happily sitting in his carseat, which fits into the jogging stroller facing you as you go. He was quietly sucking on his pacifier, enjoying the nice fresh air. I say was, because as we talked, the poodle must have gotten jealous that his owner was fawning over someone other than himself... and he let out a single loud bark not too far from B-Boy's head.

This startled B-boy, interupting his pacifier sucking. His eyes got huge. You could almost see the wheels turning in his head... Holy cow, that was loud. I am scared. Should I cry or am I ok? Um, I'll go with cry. Yep. Here goes.

And then he wailed. After I picked him up and calmed him down, we went inside. B-boy won in the end- the dog got put in his crate for the rest of the visit. B-Boy got to be held and coo-ed over, which was probably what he wanted in the first place. Good work B-boy.

Cheeserific

Life is good! Cheese is back!!!!

If you remember from a previous post, I was going to introduce cheese into my diet. The feeding specialist had taken me off dairy, and I was really looking forward to getting some cheese. We didn't think B-Boy was allergic, but he had so many issues with gas and reflux, that the specialist had us eliminate anything that could have caused it. Dairy allergy is a common cause, so off dairy I went.

That cheeseburger was about the best burger I have ever had. I am happy to report, B-Boy did not have any reaction that we could see to the cheese. YAY! I have tried it a few more times, and no problems- knock on wood.

We got a pizza last night, and it was delicious!!! My goodness I missed pizza! And so did Neb, becuase if I couldn't have it, neither could he!

So now that I am back on cheese, I am ready to introduce other dairy to see how he does. Next up? Yogurt. I so miss yogurt.

Sorry for the boring post, but I didn't want to leave you all hanging on the cheese question.

More on Grandma's visit- Date Day, Family Photos and milestones

There was so much to say in that last post, but it had gotten so long that I cut it down from what I initially planned. I thought I would finish it here.

One of the many nice things about having Neb's Mom here last week is that on Sunday, Neb and I got to have a date day... kinda like date night, but with sunlight. We headed over to the Farmer's market restaurant in Raleigh for brunch... My mouth just waters thinking about it, the food is just that good! If you have never been, remind me the next time you visit and we'll be sure to take you. They serve good ol' southern cookin'- like Cracker Barrel only with local ingredients.

After we stuffed ourselves silly, we headed to see a movie. Ah, movies.... neither one of us had been to see a movie since well before B-Boy was born... as a matter of fact, the Star Trek movie was the last one we saw, if that tells you anything. So the movie was a real treat.

We had narrowed our choices down to two movies, Avitar and the Blind Side. Timing worked out such that the Blind Side was the choice, which we were both happy about because we have waited a long time to see that movie. As you know, Neb is about the biggest Ole Miss fan there is, and we had been to several Ole Miss games that Michael Oher played in. We were both excited to see the movie we had heard so much about.

Both of us were still stuffed from brunch- so popcorn was out, but that didn't keep us from enoying ourselves. I admit that it made me bawl, such a great movie! Afterward, we went home to relieve Grandma... so grateful for the moment to ourselves. Thanks Grandma!

In my last post, I mentioned that we went for some family photos. I thought I would share some of the good ones with you.

B-Boy and my Mom, aka Mema

I did mention Neb is a HUGE Ole Miss fan, right?

Help!!! My parents are math geeks!
They dressed me in a onesie with numbers on it!

Lastly, we have some new milestones to report. While Grandma was here, B-Boy pulled himself over on his side by gripping my hand! We were playing in his activity gym, and he had is hand around my index finger. Before I knew it, B-Boy pulled on my finger and he was on his side! Whoo-hoo! He did this a few times and then decided he had enough fun for the day. The good news was that both Grandma and Neb were there to see it.

B-Boy is also giggling more, it's not quite a full laugh, but we are getting closer. He giggled with Grandma while she was here, but when I went to pick him up on Wednesday, he pulled out the big guns. I was strapping him in to his carseat... (I am still getting used to this, so I am a bit slow at it.) I was trying to keep him entertained, and I must have done a good job because he started giggle-laughing at me with the biggest smile on his face. Part of me wanted to just stay there as long as I could to make it last, but I was unfortunately in the car loading/unloading lane, and needed to get out of the way for other parents. Darn my thinking of others... would have loved to have been selfish. Oh well, I hope he turns it on again for me soon.

On a side note, Neb has been playing with B-Boy quite a bit- I am not sure who has more fun. B-Boy loves hanging upside down (which is funny because he was dancing upside down on the second ultrasound we had when I was pregnant with him)... Neb loves holding him upside down. Enjoy it while you can Neb, that boy is growing FAST! Of course, this could explain why his is so long... ;)

And finally in closing, B-Boy just realized his Grandma has gone home...

What do you mean she left????

Come back soon Grandma, your B-Boy misses you.

Grandma Come and Gone

As you know, Neb's mom was here for a visit. There is lots to share, so I hope you won't mind a long post.

Neb's mom arrived on Thursday night, and after an hour of driving around the airport trying to locate her, I finally had her in the car- minus her luggage. Apparently she had a delayed flight into Vegas from Sacramento, which gave her a tight connection in Vegas. She made the flight to Raleigh, but her luggage decided to play the slots and missed the flight. At least that was how the adventure played out in my head.

So, by the time she got in the car to see B-Boy, she looked exhausted.

But her reaction was great! She was amazed at how much he had grown and how different he looked. And I have to say, seeing the pictures I took later compared to her last visit, I can surely see why!

B-Boy at 1 month

B-Boy at 3 months

I will spare you all the mundane details of the visit, and will give you an overview of the highpoints. Neb stayed home with her on Friday, but B-Boy went to daycare to give them a chance to spend some time together. But they went for a nice long walk (over 4 miles!!!) once we got home.

Saturday was a bit crazy as it was the day we went for our family photo... which included my mom too. I had the cutest outfit for B-Boy, khaki pants and a navy blue pullover with 2 airplanes embroidered on it. Which meant that we all had to wear blue and khaki... and most of the morning was spent trying to figure out what to wear. There was some complaining, and none of it was from B-Boy!

He did great at the photo shoot, was in good spirits for most of it, which was a big change from the last time. I snapped this photo of the photographer taking a picture of Neb, his mom, and B-Boy.

And afterward, we stopped at Bojangles for dinner, for baby's first Bojangles with the Grandmas...

B-Boy was so tired that he slept all night.

Sunday we made a Turduckin, which was delicious. If you don't know what that is, it's a chicken stuffed in a Duck which is stuffed in a Turkey. Disturbing to see, but tasty!!!

Monday, Neb stayed home with his mom and B-Boy and I went to work. At noon, they headed in and we had lunch at my work before taking her over to his daycare. Grandma got to meet the teachers, see the room, and sit down for some Fish TV with B-Boy. Aren't they cute?

See, and the Seahorse likes the yellow fish right there and...

Tuesday, I worked from home, Neb went to work and B-Boy stayed home with us. Grandma played with B-Boy in the gym, and then took him for a long walk.

Since she was to leave early on Wednesday morning, I made sure to snap lots of photos on Tuesday night. The last one was the best. I made sure to get the same pose as I took in October when she was here. Can you see the difference? :)

I think my favorite moment was when B-Boy giggled which caused Grandma to giggle, which caused B-Boy to giggle, which caused Grandma to giggle... you get the gist. It was fun to watch her with him, and to watch her watch Neb with him.

Either that or when I made her go outside to get this great photo...

Oh yes, and her suitcase did find it's way to our house. It arrived at 2:30am on Friday. No news on how much it won or lost in Vegas.

Say Cheese!!!!

So this is a quick post... I am SOOOO excited.

You may not know this, but the FoodLady took me off dairy just in case B-Boy was allergic to it. She did this when B-Boy was 2 or 3 weeks old. NO DAIRY. He is now 3.5 months old. That's a long time!

No milk. Ok.
No yogurt. Uh, that is what I ate pregnant, I'll live, but miss it greatly. I found a soy yogurt substitute that is not half bad.
No cream cheese. Doable, but my bagels aren't the same.
No blue cheese dressing. Aw... not good, but Ceasar Dressing will work instead.
No cheese. OMG- that's a game changer.

I tried a Big Mac without cheese, yuck! So, I choose drive thrus that have food I normally eat without cheese... Chik-Fil-A is a big one. I have also been eating lots of Hummus, oooh the texture is a lot like cheese, so I am ok.

But today I will try introducing cheese back into my diet. It will be slow, so I will get a cheeseburger tonight and will wait a while before trying again. We'll see how B-Boy does...

So pardon me for running off, Neb just walked through the door with a greasy, cheesy, bacony goodness from Andy's. Color me cheesey and cross your fingers for me... cuz I miss cheese!!!

Neb's mom comes tomorrow!

YAY! Grandma's coming!

Neb and I are exhausted... there is so much to do to get ready for her visit. Neb has already made dinner in the crockpot, it smells so good! So instead of focusing on what we have to do, let's talk about the fun stuff.

Neb's mom will be visiting us for a week from California, and we are all excited to see her. I think she will be shocked at how much B-Boy has changed. Last time she saw him, he was a month old... barely sleeping for 3 hours at a time, and eating 2-3 ounces at a go.

He now sleeps from 8pm to 7am. And, he is eating 6 ounces at a time. Amazing what 2 more months will give you.

I can't wait to snap some pictures. I have one of her with B-Boy when she first came to visit, right after she walked through the door. B-Boy was so small (and we thought he was big!). I will be sure to post both photos for you all to compare. I just can't wait for her reaction to how much he has changed.

Well, that and her reaction to all the pictures I will be taking. Oh yes, I am sure there will be some complaints about that, but she'll appreciate it in the end. Speaking of, we will also be going for B-Boy's 3 month photo while she is here. We'll go to Penny's as a family for a group shot... which I seem to be the only one excited about. But that's ok... they all will be happy after they see the pictures. And if not, I at least will be happy, which we all know is the important part. ;)

B-Boy is lovin' his daycare

This week, B-Boy and I went full days... me to work and B-Boy to daycare. I have to say that I think his transition has been easier than mine! Mommy brain has me forgetting things like crazy... and names? Forget it! My hope is that this fog will clear in time.

B-Boy seems to really like his classroom, teachers and fellow babies. He always looks so happy when I drop him off. I haven't yet made it on time in the morning to make the "line". The "line" is much like a conveyor belt for babies. We all drive up and get in line. The teachers look out for the cars and then come out to get the babies. Each teacher knows the cars for thier parents... I don't know how they keep up with it, but they do. Cars move up in line as babies are swept away inside... Anyway, I can drop him off in this manner from 8:30 to 9:15am. I can pick him up the same way from 4:30 to 5:15pm. The teachers bring the babies out to the car, thereby making the line go quickly. Any other time, you take your child inside yourself, or go inside to get your child. I have made the pickup on time, but have had trouble in the morning. Today it was a check engine light on the civic... which led to a catalytic converter replacement. Sigh. There's always tomorrow, right?

Where was I? Oh yes... B-Boy always looks so happy when I drop him off in the morning. He usually starts with a rowdy game of eating his hand. How much can he get in his mouth today? Hmm? See?

I win!

I go over to feed him once a day... both to help him transition, and for me too! I miss my B-Boy hugs... and this is the longest he has been without me at a time. I was worried he would miss me, I know how much I miss him! I want to take advantage of the support my company gives working moms while I can... it is not frowned upon for me to go up the hill to feed him if my schedule permits. Not many companies are that supportive! Plus, he's always happy to see me. I know in 12 years or so, that may not be the case... so I want to hold on to it while I can. And, just to prove his happiness, I snapped this photo of him with his teacher...

I am happy, I swear! I just love to stop smiling when mom has the camera out.

And B-Boy is eating really well. We were worried that the amount he ate at a time would decrease as he started a new routine. So, we started sending in a cooler full of 3 ounce bottles. B-Boy normally eats 6 ounces at a time. The reason we made them smaller? The state requires the teachers to pour out any milk he has started to drink an hour after he stops. So, if he has a 6 ounce bottle and only eats 2 ounces, if he doesn't drink the rest of the bottle within an hour, down the drain it goes. And believe me, if you had to pump that much, you would be concerned too!!! So, we decided to break it up just to be safe. (Now I know how my Dad felt when we left all the lights on in the house...)

I am happy to tell you that B-Boy has inherited Neb's appetite and love of food. He is drinking the entire 6 ounces at a go. Silly parents... we should have known better I guess! So now we are sending in the larger bottles, which makes life much easier.

More about daycare... Each night I get a cute note about B-Boy's activities for the day. It is fun to read and it helps me feel so much more connected to him. And I think Neb does too... he has read every single one. We now have conversations like "Ooooh.... did he do Fish TV today?" or "When does it say he last pooped? Whoo-hoo! We might get out of a poopy diaper!" Ah, the conversations of new parents.... aren't you jealous?

And an added benefit of daycare? I think B-Boy is watching other babies that are older than he is and is motivated to do what they do... he tolerates tummy time much better now and is lifting his head higher and longer! Whoo hoo! He must get Neb's competiitive nature, don't ya think? I can hear his brain now..."That 5 month boy has nothing on me... I'll show him..."

Heh heh. At least, that's what we tell each other until the next sheet comes home.

First day at daycare!

Wow... it is hard to believe that I have been home for 3 months, but today I went back to work. Which means that B-Boy had his first day at daycare.

I may be on the changing table, but I think other change is coming!

Neb and I got everything ready last night so that we could get out the door as quickly as possible this morning. Good start right?

B-Boy's teacher asked me to bring him after 9:15am, when the other parents would be finished dropping off thier kids. Well, we were running a bit late this morning after a fussy night with B-Boy. So much for sleeping through the night! He woke up at 2:30, then again at 4am... we ended up feeding him again then... and then he woke again at 6:30am but fell back asleep. Eventually, we made it out the door-

To find one of the cars had a flat tire. Sigh. We normally commute together, but had decided to drive seperately this week since I was only working a half day. So much for that!

So, Neb hopped in the car with me... and we headed out... only to be stuck waiting for a train. Fortunately, the train was a short one going pretty fast! Anyway, I dropped Neb off at work... which was sad because I know he really wanted to be there to drop B-Boy off. :(

Once we arrived at the daycare, I took B-Boy into his classroom. There was a sign on the door welcoming B-Boy which included a photo of the 3 of us. So sweet! I spoke with his teachers and then spread a blanket that my sister sent him on the floor. On to the blanket he went... and immediately started sucking on his fingers. I left with him smiling and in good spirits.

I have to admit it was a bit hard to keep walking. Taking him- so easy. Dropping him off? No sweat. Walking out the door and out to the car? Holy moly that was hard. But I did it.

The good part was that I decided to go back for his feeding to give him his bottle. So an hour later I was back. Heh heh. And it was a good thing because it ended up being a tough feeding. As you know, B-Boy has had some feeding problems. I was not sure how he would do in a classroom with other crying babies. But I get ahead of myself.

His teachers called when B-Boy was ready to eat, and 5 minutes later I was back with him in my arms! When I walked in the room, B-Boy was in a bouncer seat with his Seahorse toy, his lovey, and his blanket. He was staring at what they call the "Fish TV"... which is just a fake aquarium with pictures of fish swimming around. He was mezmorized and it took a few moments for him to realize I was there. I snapped a photo so you could see what I saw...

Oh, Hi Mom! You should see these fish... they are so cool!
Even Seahorse likes them! See?

And then we had the feeding... it did not start well, another baby started crying and B-Boy refused to eat. When he finally took to the bottle, he started screaming... the nipple was clogged!!! Eventually we got it figured out and he drained 6 ounces. Back to work I went!

At 2:30pm, I went and picked him up. He was sound asleep, wrapped snug in a swaddling blanket, with his Seahorse toy nearby. I just had to snap a photo for you to see it.

Zzzzzzz

Sorry the photos are so dark, I had to turn off the flash so as not to disturb any of the babies!

His teacher was amazed at how quickly he fell asleep once he got his pacifier. B-Boy is really soothed by sucking! If you look closely at the picture you will see his lovey tucked in a bag hanging above him- with its head peeking out. Too cute! (The state requires nothing be in the bed with him after he falls asleep to prevent SIDS, so once B-Boy was asleep his teachers moved it to the bag.) I also dropped off some photos that they will hang in the room (one right above his bed, one above his hook, and another for the bulletin board).

As we left, we were given a sheet that listed all his activities for the day. YAY! So it was like I was there... even if I wasn't. His teachers are really sweet, and I sit here feeling good about taking him back tomorrow. We shall see if my feet are able to leave him again.

Happy 3 month old!

One more day folks... that's how much time I have left on my leave. Where did the 12 weeks go? I was fortunate to have enough vacation to take all paid time off after my maternity leave ended. YAY! But now it is all but gone, and on Wednesday I head back to work. I will be going half days this week, and then on Monday the 11th, I am back full time.
I am just amazed that the time has flown by so quickly. And, that B-Boy is officially 3 months old today!

To celebrate, Neb took the day off and played with him for most of the day. He's so good with him, I just have to get some video of the two of them playing for you to see. Neb will feed him every morning, and then put him in his swing for a rowdy game of Smile. This is basically Neb making funny faces and noises and B-Boy smiling and turning his head - sometimes covering his eyes with his arm. It's really cute. Today, Neb was giggling during Smile, and B-Boy giggled back at him. Neb's reaction was priceless- he was so excited.

Then Neb will eventually put him in the activity gym where he plays with his legs... bicycle pumps, swimming strokes and ski motions are the norm... and then punching the stuffed monkey and bug that hang from the arches of the gym is usually repeated several times. Neb also rolls him to the left and then to the right. The funny thing about this is that Neb will jerk his own head in the direction he is going to roll B-Boy and say "are you ready to roll?" and then he rolls B-Boy in that direction while saying "Roll OVERRRRR" in a singsong voice. Why is that funny you ask? It's not. What is funny is that B-Boy has figured out what Neb's head jerk means, and will lower his shoulder so that he can easily roll that way.

How do we know this you ask? Simple. Neb did not tell me this trick. I tried the roll game and it did not go so well... B-Boy's head was flopping around and not rolling over as smoothly as he does for Neb. Silly Neb, not sharing his tricks! HA! But we figured it out and now I am rolling him just fine thank you!

But I get off track... where was I? Oh yes, B-Boy is 3 months today and will be going to daycare when I go back to work. We went to his classroom today to drop off some paperwork, diapers and clothes and for us all to see his teachers again. I got to ask more questions because face it, I was braindead at our last meeting... and have thought of lots more questions the closer to reality we get! It was nice to be back in his classroom and to see his teachers again.

Personally, I am looking forward to getting back to work and finding some balance. I feel really good about this for several reasons.
  1. His daycare is at my work. He will be 2 buildings away and I can get there very quickly if need be!
  2. As long as my schedule works out, I can go over to see him, feed him or snuggle him whenever I want.
  3. My friend Cat's two children have gone there and she raves about it. She even took me over to observe her son 's room when I was pregnant. So, it's not totally unknown.
  4. He will have 2 teachers and one aide. And, only 6 babies (including him) in the room. That's three adults to 6 kids!
  5. His primary teacher has been there at the daycare doing this for 20 years... Yes, you read that right, 20 years. Where else can you get that?
  6. I really love the work that I do, and truely believe it makes me a better person, which will make me a better and happier mom.
  7. I am sure Neb would like my side of our conversations to include topics other than B-Boy or schedules...
So, I plan on enjoying my last day home with B-Boy. I'll let you know how our first day goes... Think happy thoughts for us!

The Colic Diet

So today I am officially back in my pre-pregnancy clothes! Yahoo!

My weight was back down several weeks ago, but my clothes just weren't fitting yet. In the first months of my pregnancy, I bought some jeans and pants in larger sizes until it was time to go into the pregnancy pants. For the past few months, I have been wearing the "stopgap" jeans and pants.

This morning I decided it was time to see if my waist was ready... and so up to the incredibly cold attic I went. And you know what? Those freezing cold jeans fit!!! My favorite pair!!! Not only that, but my engagement ring also fits again! YAY!

The bonus for having a really fussy baby is that those pounds melt off! B-Boy was really fussy when he was younger, and was only happy when you held him and moved around. Which meant that you could not sit down... EVER. He was happiest if you danced with him... and forget a baby carrier... you had to HOLD him up high over your shoulder and dance, back and forth, spinning as you saw fit. And with all that, it was really hard to find time to eat. If it wasn't easy to grab and finger food (soup was out!), I didn't eat it. (Although Neb did cook dinner EVERY night, and his Mom took great care with meal preparation when she was here... for which I was extremely grateful!)

Had I known then how it would help me lose the pounds, I might have complained a little less. Yes Neb, I said MIGHT.

So I just need a name for this fabulous new diet/exercise regimen and the millions will start rolling in, right?
